Polystyrene cladding panels and Render Products

More and more Australian builders are using polystyrene because of the following benefits:

• lightweight
• water proof
• good insulator
• strong and flexible
• energy efficient
• cost effective
• quick and easy to install.

Polystyrene cladding is a panel made from (EPS) expanded polystyrene, and extruded rigid cellular polystyrene, both these materials have been modified by the addition of flame retardant additives and are a light weight product. It provides a good foundation for acrylic render finishes.

The panels are square edged and available in the following sizes
2500mm or 5000mm long, 1200mm wide and 50mm, 75mm or 100mm thick. We have the facility to cut to size .

The extruded foamular panels are 2450mm x 600mm Shiplap, 1.47m2 per panel

The thicknesses of the different panels are available from 25mm through to 100mm thickness

The panels are available in either Class M grade ( medium density )or Class H grade. ( high density)

When butt joining the panels apply the approved sealant along the all edges of the panels that need to be joined:

• Bostik Seal N Flex FC polyurethane sealant
• Tremco Tremfil polycarbonate water based sealant

When fixing the panels to the stud wall use the recommended fasteners and angles to strengthen and protect corners and give a straight edge to the finished product:

• Bugle head, self tapping Class 3 10 gauge galvanised screws
• 38mm diameter polypropylene washers.
• 3000m Galvanised angles
• 3000m Stainless steel angles

Install a fibreglass mesh sheet on the EPS board prior to rendering
The mesh is available in rolls of:

• 165gsm fibreglass mesh adhesive (green )
